Description:

This role is responsible for coordinating the successful movement of loads as the customer requires by contracting and managing an outsourced network of transportation provider partners. They will also track freight to ensure selected transportation providers meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain quality-working relationships with transportation providers by using various means of communication in order to have access to the best equipment at the most competitive rates.
  • Manage transportation providers to ensure customer service requirements are met.
  • Make customer service the top priority by providing customers with the highest level of service possible.
  • Prioritize all available freight to efficiently and effectively cover all available customer loads.
  • Strategically match available transportation provider equipment to every available customer load.
  • Track all booked loads from the point the transportation provider is contracted through final delivery of the load.
  • Collect, document and disseminate  accurate information to/from provider and Drivers and between internal departments.
  • Manage transportation provider issues and resolve transportation provider operational problems including unplanned accessorial charges and accounting discrepancies.
  • Negotiate rates with transportation providers to obtain the best possible rate in the marketplace for each load moved.
  • Gather market information about the supply and demand of capacity in the marketplace to understand market conditions and lane rates.
  • Serve as the liaison between the transportation provider and our customer.
  • Prospect transportation providers to further develop the carrier base.
  • Collect and document all available equipment from transportation providers.
  • Document all preferred lanes and services offered by transportation providers.
  • Communicate new transportation provider opportunities to Customer Sales and Operations.
  • Send rate confirmations to carriers that document all requirements and verify receipt.
  • Identify and communicate ways the company can continuously improve in its operations.
  • Assist in the development of new employees.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Transportation field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of brokerage experience preferred.
  • Direct Sales experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a deadline driven environment.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit.
  • Ability to multitask and attention to detail.
  • Experience with MercurtyGate TMS preferred, but not required.

  • Perform core-selling activities, including sales call preparation, execution of sales calls and post-call analysis and reporting.
  • Understand and sell services and solutions that apply to the customer’s value chain.
  • Develop and maintain accounts.
  • Source carriers and negotiate rates.
  • Track load status and relay all issues to customers.

Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business/Marketing preferred but not required.
  • 2+ years of sales experience in cold calling environment.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Customer service/ relationships building experience.

Description:

This position is responsible for soliciting business for the logistics division and achieving margin production goals. It is also responsible for sourcing sales leads and prospecting for business in targeted markets. In this role, you will work with pricing operations staff to qualify new business opportunities, determine appropriate pricing and service commitments and provide pricing feedback to the pricing department for the pricing model. You will also negotiate all pricing with customers and serve as liaison between the customer and our operations staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain in-depth working knowledge of company’s service modes.
  • Solicit business for each of our service modes.
  • Contact prospective customers and qualify for potential fit with our services.
  • Negotiate rates with assigned customers and prospects using our pricing tools.
  • Develop an annual margin forecast and production goals for each mode.
  • Present service proposals and RFPs to assigned customers.
  • Work with pricing and operations staff to determine pricing strategy for each RFP.
  • Provide pricing feedback to pricing staff from RFPs and spot quotes.
  • Maintain information in Salesforce software tool.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
  • Meet margin production goals.

Experience:

  • High school degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in business or sales preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience selling OTR services.
  • Previous experience with SalesForce or CRM software preferred.
  • Up to 10% travel required.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Experience creating and conducting sales presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and verbal skills.
